Main duties : To actively promote Safety, Health, Welfare and the Environment.
Carry out the duties of a Breathing Apparatus wearer or BA entry control officer as detailed on a structural or airfield crash rescue crew.
any deficiencies are reported directly to the duty air traffic controller via the duty Crew Manager.
Operate a range of DFRMO fire vehicles and associated equipment such as branch or monitor operator, under the direction of the Crew or Watch Manager.
Assist in the inspection, servicing and maintenance of a range of first aid fire appliances and installed fire protection equipment.
Ensure that personal protective firefighting equipment is maintained in accordance with contractual requirements.
Be fully competent with all DFRMO watch room control duties, procedures and communications.
Continue to develop acquisition of skills and knowledge through the maintenance of skills training (MOST) system and the continual demonstration of workplace competency.
Records of all incidents attended and any training sessions are to be maintained on the MOST system.
Ensure personal medical standards, fire trade qualifications, station specific equipment competencies are in-date and any deficiencies are highlighted to the Crew Manager.
Be fully competent in using workplace IT systems and maintaining customer security / processes.
What we are looking for in our candidates : Essential : A demonstrable competency record within the role of firefighter through courses held at DFTDC Manston or similarly approved civilian training establishment.
All levels as described in JSPs 446 and JSP 426 Must pass medical and fitness standard as laid out in DFRMO Medical Standards for civilian fire and rescue personnel employed on MOD estate Visual, hearing, step test and general health.
Desirable : In date Operational Breathing Apparatus Wearers Assessment.
