Are you passionate about delivering a great service to candidates and managers? Do you have experience in coordinating successful recruitment campaigns?

Scottish Government is looking for an HR Recruiter to provide an excellent day to day service to our candidates and hiring managers.

This is an exciting time to join the team, we have just launched a brand-new Applicant Tracking System and this opportunity will help to shape the future of Scottish Government Resourcing by changing the way we deliver recruitment.


  • Our main job is to deliver a first-class customer service to hiring managers and applicants on their resourcing journey, and we are always looking for ways to improve and innovate whilst keeping diversity and inclusion in mind.
  • You will have experience of supporting managers to deliver great resourcing outcomes, and ideally have used an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) preferably in an in-house’ recruitment or HR environment.
  • You will have a demonstrable proven track record of coordinating and delivering a range of recruitment campaigns within policy and to tight deadlines.
  • This will be supported by your experience and up to date knowledge of recruitment best practice and employment legislation.

  • We want to offer a consultative recruitment service to our hiring managers therefore you should be comfortable collaborating with stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes and you and required to deal with roles that are, potentially, challenging to fill so your experience in providing advice on job descriptions and adverts will be key.

    Essential Criteria

    1. Evidence of excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, showing the ability to engage confidently with customers and colleagues at all levels.

    2. Evidence the ability to work as part of a team delivering effective customer focused services whilst maintaining a positive attitude in helping others and embracing change.

    3. Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with evidence of excellent customer service while working to tight deadlines and ever changing priorities.

    4. You will be able to evidence a confident use of various IT systems / applications.
