We may be smallbut we think big and our learning environment, with spacious accommodation inthe heart of Whitby town, is second to none.

Working in avery small primary school will mean you will have to wear many hats and it isvery different to working in a bigger school.

However the commute to work, andworking with our 20 children will hopefully catch your interest and you willwant to find out more.

Our opportunity

We are looking to appoint a General Teaching Assistant ona fixed term contract to provide classroom support. From September we will have20 children on roll which is made up 12 in EYFS / KS1 and 8 in KS2.

We won’t haveany children in Year 6. You will support our class of 12 children and workclosely with the teacher and take responsibility for small groups as well asone to one support.

We encourageapplications from candidates who have a passion for primary education and wishto work in a setting which offers reward and challenge and where no two daysare the same.

This is a fixedterm post starting from September 2020.

The successful candidate must holdEnglish and Maths GCSE level C’ or above or equivalent.We are lookingfor :

You will :

  • Haveprevious experience in this type of role.
  • Havea genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Beable to develop positive working relationships with pupils, parents, staff andother professionals.
  • Bewilling to undertake and act on relevant professional development and training.
  • Beable to support in the delivery of high quality learning experiences for allpupils.
  • Havehigh expectations of learning and behaviour and inspire and motivate ourchildren.
  • Besupportive, nurturing and understanding.
  • Seekto make learning exciting and a positive experience.
  • Workwell as part of a team.
  • Demonstrategood communication skills both orally and written.
