We have an exciting opportunity to join the large department of Psychological and Mental Health Services at Great Ormond Street Hospital as a Consultant Neuropsychologist Lead.
The post holder will join a team of Consultant Psychologists and Mental Health Team Leads as part of the senior management team for Psychological and Mental Health Services in the Trust.
The post is line managed by the Joint Specialty Lead of Psychological and Mental Health Services. The post holder will lead a team of neuropsychologists and clinical psychologists providing neuropsychology services to a team of related neuro-specialties in the Trust.
There will also be a requirement to support education, training, research and innovation across the specialties within the team.
The post holder will have a research responsibility for mentoring and supervising a team of clinical neuropsychologists on research relating to brain-behaviour disorders in children.
The post holder will co-lead the Psychological Medicine team with the Consultant Psychiatrists. This service only accepts tertiary referrals, including to its complex Tourette Syndrome Clinic.
The team provides assessment and treatment to children with mental illness in the context of physical illness in particular neurological conditions and functional / medically unexplained symptoms.
Referrals require expertise in paediatric psychology, neuropsychometric assessment and mental health.
The management team comprises clinical psychologists at all bands, assistant psychologists, trainees and undergraduates.
The post holder will join a team of Consultant Psychologists to work together to ensure a Trust-wide service provision utilising psychological skills of the workforce creatively and flexibly.
There is opportunity to work with senior clinicians to develop innovative clinical practice as well as links with colleagues at the GOSH / UCL Institute of Child Health for research collaboration.
The post holder will be responsible for representing Psychological and Mental Health Services at a senior level and ensuring an effective and efficient service provision with strong support for education and training within Psychological and Mental Health Services and to NHS professionals nationally and internationally.
