Medical Delivery Night Driver
This job is an integral part of the night operation, ensuring all medical supplies are sorted correctly, securely loaded onto the vehicle and transported to their respective delivery depot throughout the night.
It is the night driver’s responsibility to ensure the day team have the right product at their depot to complete their deliveries to the hospitals and patients.
Primary Accountabilities and Deliverables :
Accurately loads medical supplies and associated documentation in preparation for delivery
Delivery and / or collection of medical supplies and / or equipment to / from depot locations as needed.
Ensure that the supplies / equipment are stored safely and securely in the vehicles to preserve product integrity and driver safety during transport.
Complete nightly vehicle pre-journey checks and report any defects prior to leaving the depot.
Prepares all items in the depot ready for the day team to collect.
Investigate and resolve any issues with regards to misrouted or missing items.
Accurately completes all appropriate documentation and submits to the relevant person in a timely fashion.
Communicates regularly with transport department regarding status of delivery / route.
Ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of you and other persons and to comply with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety within the Company.
Performs all other required delivery duties as assigned including ad hoc assignments.
Assist with other duties such as warehousing and housekeeping of vehicles and the depot when required.
Demonstrable experience working within a similar role - logistics and inventory control, in healthcare or a similar environment.
A full UK car driving licence (no more than 3 points).
Able to use in cab equipment for tracking of deliveries.
Able to demonstrate reliability, good time management and organising skills.
Able to work independently.
Good written and verbal communication.
Good numerical skills.
Strong administrative and record keeping skills.
Able to demonstrate attention to detail.
Strong customer focus skills.
Flexible - Able to facilitate change at short notice.
