  • What's the purpose of the role?

    Reporting to the Head of Global Creative Services, the Lead Creative Designer will oversee and work on omni-channel projects through from conception to delivery, providing advice and guidance on new and innovative ways to market our products.

    This role will need to be a design champion within the team, inspiring others to achieve their best.

    The Lead Creative Designer will live and breathe design, especially focussed on digital, taking our brand websites and campaigns to the next level, as well as being involved in omni-channel concepts in line with our promotional periods.

    You will help define creative best practices and processes and inspire the best possible creative output, leading 2 direct reports and working alongside the other teams of designers, photographers, and videographers.

    You will also strive to continually elevate the creative and ensure consistency across our brands and messaging.

    What does the job entail?

  • Be expert in translating briefs into targeted, effective, inspirational creative, producing creative assets to support this, and developing ideas for how our brand propositions and positioning comes to life
  • Traffic workload daily, assigning briefs both to yourself and your direct reports, determining assignments as needed
  • Ensure deadlines are managed and planned for accordingly
  • You will partner across the company to instil creative excellence at every touchpoint
  • Leverage customer insights that solve strategic problems
  • Be a champion for the power of great creative work to shift perception and drive results
  • Work with external partners and agencies, forming a strong creative link
  • Work flexibly and see the big picture while keeping an eye on every detail
  • Ensure clear communications with stakeholders including Brand Marketing, Digital and Product
  • Help evolve and innovate our creative messaging strategy in-market and help capture and elevate all our brand communications
  • Review and monitor processes to ensure all sign-off procedures have been followed
  • Mentor and manage direct reports, guiding them to generate a wide range of concepts and creative artwork, providing evaluation and clear feedback
  • Ensure RM&Me appraisal process is conducted annually, ensuring regular check-ins with team members
  • Provide cover for the Head of Creative Services when required
  • What are we looking for?

  • Brings an outstanding level of experience in creative design this could be from previous agency or an in-house team experience minimum of 5 years required
  • Digital design experience, including UX / UI principles, is an absolute essential
  • Previous experience of managing or leading a creative team, including designers, artworkers and agency partners
  • Confidently possess strong leadership capabilities with a mentoring and nurturing style to guide the creative out of others
  • Is a conceptual thinker who is strategically focused
  • Has a strong design / art direction background and demonstrable experience in working with and defining design guidelines
  • Is a great communicator with strong influencing skills and experience, able to convey creative ideas and plans to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Is collaborative by nature and gets energy bringing people together
  • Strong presentation skills, being able to convey concepts in a clear and compelling manner
  • Is comfortable in a fast-moving, constantly evolving environment and have the maturity to bring stability and be calm within deadlines
  • Has a portfolio demonstrating proficiency in delivering strategic creative ideas across digital, social and print disciplines
  • Previous print catalogue design experience would be advantageous
  • Able to work with Abode Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Magento Pagebuilder and WordPress proficiently
  • InRiver Print PIM experience would be desirable
