Kier Workplace Services are looking to recruit aClerk of Works / Administratorintheir design teamwho will report to the Lead Engineer based inLincoln.

  • The successful post-holder will work as an integral part of amulti-disciplinary design team specialising in the delivery of buildingconstruction programmes;
  • producing high quality, comprehensive reports;checking of drawings and specifications to enable projects to be completedwithin agreed cost and budget.

    They will provide technical and practicalsupport to the teams.

    The post holder will also act as contract administrator onsmaller building projects ensuring change control approvals are properlyauthorised and actively working to prevent any contractor or client claimsarising from service delivery.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Inspection and reporting of Contractors performance
  • Ensuring compliance with all contract documentation
  • Assessing what surveys are required before work can start and ensuring that they are undertaken and carrying out basic measured surveys as directed
  • Preparing and presenting detailed reports using relevant computer programmes
  • Participating in the detailed design process and the co-ordination of design information
  • Liaising with appropriate authorities / client representatives in a professional manner
  • Contribute to design risk assessments
  • Administer contracts and visit sites as required
  • Support local and nationalsales and bids as appropriate
  • Key Skills and Qualifications :

  • Previous experience in a similar role with a technical background
  • Experience on building projects at a variety of contract values up to £20M
  • Ability to work to programme, budget and agreed deadlines
  • Knowledge of current construction regulations
  • Understanding and preferably experience of NBS and NBS Create
  • Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts including full service and Design and Build
  • Understanding of computer programmes including MS Word, MS Excel and Autocad
  • Clean driving license is essential
