Job Description

Mitie has an exciting opportunity in Bullring Shopping Centre in Birmingham. We are looking for a Security officer to join the team on site.

In the role as a Security Officer, you will take a lead role on site in ensuring a safe and pleasurable environment exists for all staff and visitors.

Pay rate of £9.45 per hour over 46 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern.

  • Main Duties

  • The Security Officer will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive, and approachable at all times when welcoming clients and customers.
  • As the first point of contact for to all customers and clients, the Security Officers must have geographically aware of their local surroundings.
  • The Security Officer must spot and stop all suspicious sightings or potential criminal activity and retain full control until the arrival of emergency services.
  • Report to the Security Shift Manager or Duty Controller they must record, report and escalate all sightings and arrests on a regular basis.
  • Person Specification

  • The Security Officer will need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
  • The Security Officer should be able to work on own initiative.
  • Flexible Approach to work to suit the business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
  • It is important the Security Officer is calm under pressure.
  • Door Supervision or Security Guarding License desirable but not essential.
