An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our tier 3 plus service providing assessment and treatment for children with intellectual disabilities who pose additional challenges because of their complex behaviour.
The post holder will join a well regarded and established multi-disciplinary team. With access to regular supervision, duties would include : the holistic assessment of children, young people, their families and carers;
acting as care coordinator for specific children; the assessment and management of risk; providing interventions for children and their parents within a Positive Behaviour Support framework;
developing and sustaining professional networks; supervision and training of others and consultation to other NHS agencies.
There are also opportunities for evaluation / audit and research. Team work is highly valued and we offer excellent support, training and development opportunities.
The service forms part of the Children's Clinical Psychology Service of the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton which provides a diverse range of psychological services and opportunities for peer supervision and further development.
We have good links with the local Doctoral Training Courses and offer placements to Trainee Clinical Psychologists. The post holder will be expected to travel to visit families within Derby City and Southern Derbyshire.
