Job Summary

As a Project Manager you will be expected to work with a Senior Project Manager or Associate to successfully manage and deliver capital investment projects.

The role would cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase.

Job Duties

Lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery

Provide oversight / audit & review, to a portfolio of projects being lead within the cost centre

To provide effective support to Assistant PMs

Ensure commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time

Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team

Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities, are identified and acted upon with guidance of the Senior and Associate PMs

Be the primary interface with AECOM clients (New and Existing)

Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training

Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed time-scales and quality standards

Co-ordination and sign off on all management information produced by project management teams prior to issue

Management of internal financial systems and liaison with internal operations and contracts teams as necessary

To win’ clients through strong business development skills

Management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations

Minimum Requirements

Sound experience of project delivery in the UK. Multi-disciplinary team experience is desirable. Overseas experience is desirable but not necessary.

Sound experience in a Client management role Able to manage the account in terms of projects that are live’, plus seeking new opportunities.

  • Experience as a Project Manager in a comparative business or able to show working towards becoming a Project Manager;
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • Highly motivated and with excellent industry network;
  • Possess the ability to work across service lines (a track record of cross selling would be useful)

    Commercial experience is essential along with a proven track record of winning and retaining new Clients

    Preferred Qualifications

    Degree Qualified Project Management / Construction / Engineering / Quantity Surveying Degrees are the most desirable but other relevant degrees will be considered.

    Chartered Status with the APM, RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution is desirable but non-chartered candidates.

    APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation)

    Prince 2 or MSP experience is desirable but not essential

    Good Understanding of contracts
