We require a UK Business Improvement Director to be join our Operational Services team to maximise returns across Civica UK activities, through revenue, margin and cost improvement The role involves analysis, operational improvement identification, planning, design and project action planning and management.

This is a critical position in maintaining and improving Civica UK activities, whilst ensuring Civica continues to be seen as a forward thinking, progressive and growing business to our staff, competitors and customers.

Role Responsibilities :

Design, develop and help business units (BUs) to own and execute operational improvement plans. There is an existing and evolving set of strategic, operational improvements with the additional aim to enable c 20 BUs to use group’s operational systems in a consistent way with a more data / KPI led focus

Business Improvement / Operational Excellence :

  • Identify areas of improvement with line Director
  • Define and drive key actions to address these areas of improvement
  • Promote continuous improvement / business excellence across the Group
  • Margin / Cost Improvement :

  • Drive continuous improvement in sales, software development, professional services delivery and service desk operations
  • Reduce operational costs where identified, without negative affect on the business
  • Lead and execute Operational Excellence workshops with key staff members and management
  • Culture & Project Management :

  • Contribute to a growing Business Improvement culture
  • Steer Operational improvement meetings
  • Project manage, set / agree and monitor improvement targets
  • Coordinate Project office reporting and
  • Actively lead culture change to steer management into thinking Business Improvement
  • Required Skills : Core attributes

  • Excellent excel analysis skills and excellent analytical skills (must enjoy data analysis) capable of elementary modelling / advanced excel that connects data in a commercial / operational way
  • Problem solver thinks through problems, builds new solutions and takes business partners with them on delivery of the solution
  • Fact based & data driven
  • Action oriented, prepared to get hands dirty to help make actions happen (hence suits someone with due diligence related experience)
  • Assertive, Patient, pragmatic, practical, constructive, persuasive, cat herding skills
  • Relationship Building :

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Excellent ability to get senior Management and Directors on side to make change happen and build improvement activities
  • Able to lead conversations with Managing Directors
  • Able to sell the benefits of change to a range of levels of management who have an emerging experience of operational improvement and change
  • Experience :

  • Background in Operational due diligence or strategy consulting / due diligence with major consulting firms (e.g. Big 4, Restructuring specialists and / or strategy Houses)
  • experience of deals / investee companies involving Private Equity buyers / owners and value creation agendas
  • Degree and further qualification e.g. ACA, MBA
  • Good breadth of operational skills in sales management & processes, pricing & offer management, technology / development processes inc.
  • utilisation of low cost locations , people productivity, resource utilisation models and T&M pricing models
