The Role :
The Engineer is responsible for planning and design work related to the planned operations. The Engineer responsible for the program ("Programme Engineer") reports technically to the Lead Drilling Engineer on a day-
to-day basis but has a formal line function to the Leader Drilling and Well Engineering.
The Engineer shall :
Work in teams with other disciplines.
Provide risk evaluations for the planned operation / activity
Compile programmes and detailed procedures for installing the drilling equipment.
Ensure that the Detailed Operations Procedures are discussed in a net meeting between the office and the field before start of operation.
Ensure upcoming main focus points in the Detailed Operations Procedures are discussed in the daily Rig Status Meeting.
Update the office-field action / decision log during the operation.
Conduct Post Operations Meeting with the rig after end of operations (with service companies, Drilling Supervisor and drilling contractor).
Update the "as run Detailed Operations Procedures".
Support the rig site team.
Evaluate and adhere to parameters from real-time data.
Participate in subsurface meetings and discussions as / if applicable.
Perform QC of all acquired data and update all relevant databases.
Update Best Practices (as run Procedures / experience database).
Challenge the rest of the group to ensure that the work is done cost-effectively and that future drilling operations can be run in a simple and cost-effective way.
Prepare the Programme (drilling programme)
Undertake method selections
Perform risk assessments
Evaluate and recommend required equipment
Prepare Detailed Operations Procedures and Section Guidelines based on "as run procedures" and "action / decision log" from last similar operation as well as from experiences from similar wells
Conduct Detailed Operations Procedures Workshop
Review the Detailed Operations Procedures and risk assessment by using a multi discipline team (service, contractor, offshore and onshore personnel)
Review lesson learnt from action / decision log
Implement finalizing Detailed Operations Procedures
Prepare time and cost estimates
Essential Skills / Qualifications :
You have solid knowledge in the drilling discipline.
You have solid practical drilling experience.
Strong commitment towards HSE
Offshore certificates are required for this role as ad-hoc offshore work will be required
