We are looking for volunteers to man our reception desk at our NI headquarters. Primarily, this will involve greeting guests and handling telephone queries, but may also include drafting responses to communication received by post, email and social media, as well as some general administrative duties.
If you are passionate about saving nature and have some knowledge of UK wildlife and the work of the RSPB, then we would love to hear from you.
On-the-job training will be provided, however some prior knowledge about wildlife and a willingness to learn would be highly desirable.
This role will suit someone who loves to meet and talk to the public and who would gain satisfaction from passing on their passion for wildlife to others.
You will gain experience answering a wide range of enquiries, both on the telephone and face-to-face. This will allow you to use and improve your wildlife knowledge, whilst also engaging in a wide range of conservation issues.
By joining our team, you will make a genuine contribution and gain a valuable insight into the workings of Europe's largest conservation charity.
In addition, should you want to, there will be opportunities to support other projects within RSPB Northern Ireland.
We receive a wide range of wildlife enquiries via phone, email, post and in person, so the role will require a confident communicator with a friendly manner.
You will be used to dealing with people and working within a team environment. You will be reliable and able to commit to the role.
You will need to have an interest and enthusiasm for UK wildlife species and the work of the RSPB. Basic computer literacy skills would also help.
