Job Description

An opportunity has become available to join our Liverpool based Finance team as a Capital Accountant. You will play a key role for a number of external and internal reporting and technical finance activities at a regional level.

You will manage and maintain key stakeholder relationships, including internal stakeholders and external auditors. You will be part of the team delivering all aspects of Solvency II.

Role Requirements

You will be required to be compliant with all relevant Financial law & accounting standards including internal policies, protocols and processes.

You will be measured via a variety of methods including the :

  • Outcome of (internal and external) Audits and Reviews
  • Quality, timeliness, accuracy and commercial appropriateness of advice and information
  • Provision of early warning of potential issues & variances - Speed & effectiveness of response to financial issues
  • Successful execution of mergers, acquisitions & disposals
  • Maintenance of effective financial control environment
  • Ability to choose and use a range of analytical tools, techniques and software packages
  • Responsibilities

  • Gathering, validating and compiling quantitative and qualitative financial information, from multiple internal and / or external sources to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Analysing financial and business data and information using a variety of proven statistical and other analytical techniques to identify trends, anomalies, gaps, etc
  • Interpreting financial information to determine causality, significance, business impact or implications and developing advice or recommendations for action to be approved by others
  • Preparing forecasts and reports on a regular or ad hoc basis to meet the needs of internal customers and stakeholders, within agreed timescales
  • Ensuring information and interpretation is presented clearly, unambiguously and in a readily comprehensible and appropriate format for the audience and business purpose
  • Contributing to a wide variety of projects and initiatives potentially including internal initiatives and corporate transactions
  • Running and / or contributing to the development of financial models, tools and analytical processes to meet business needs.
  • Leading, motivating and developing one or more teams to deliver high quality outputs in the most effective ways while ensuring their personal and professional development
  • The Individual

  • You will be an ACCA / CIMA fully Qualified Accounting professional
  • You will have relevant previous experience in a limited company and / or regulated business
  • You will have the proven ability to manage complex financial reporting procedures and consistently achieve accurate, on time delivery
  • You will have demonstrable people management experience
  • You will have a keen eye for detail
