Visa Direct is a payment service that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers / disbursements to Visa accounts around the world using push payment technology, i.

e. Original Credit Transaction (OCT). Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer (e.

g. payments to landscaper), funds disbursement (e.g. insurance claim disbursements), bill payment, cross-border remittance and more.

Currently, the push payments market around the world is estimated to be an $80T opportunity.

The Global Strategic Initiatives Lead will report directly to the VP, Visa Direct Network & Business Development and be responsible for leading a growing number of global strategic engagements, partnerships & alliances for Visa Direct.

Identifying, engaging and pursing transformational opportunities through to contracting this critical role will be directly client facing.

You will be an expert in cross border payments and multi-channel payment platforms able to identify true value in our global business development initiatives.

You will be comfortable engaging at senior levels internally and externally, able to identify opportunities, communicate them clearly and mobilize cross functional support to engage and deliver.

This role will play a critical role in driving insights into our overall commercial strategy. Working directly with the regional product & sales leaderships play an active role in developing cut through strategies to accelerate growth and consumer engagement.

This role will drive global our strategic engagements, be a key contributor to our overall commercial strategy and play a key role in delivering against our ambitious growth targets.

This is a cross functional role so organizational savvy and interpersonal skills are critical as we interface with other specialized product groups, financial institution sales, merchant sales, operations, technology, risk, analytics, marketing and corporate communications, legal, corporate strategy, and finance to coordinate the build, launch and sell Visa Direct.

We are looking for a highly motivated, positive individual with a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines to join the team.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Global strategic partnerships, alliances & engagements

  • Identify, engage and partner with key players in the global payment’s environment working to develop strategic partnerships that enable accelerated scale, acceptance and time to revenue.
  • Build and own a strong pipeline of key targets aligned to strategic verticals, work with regional sales leadership to optimize and enhance global initiatives and delivery regional revenues
  • See engagements through from prospect to client managing the key deliverables from deal execution, contract negotiation and internal executive state holder management
  • Work with Market Development, Commercialization, Product and Sales to ensure that a focussed and customer orientated strategy it’s implemented across all consumer touch points
  • Work directly with the VP, Visa Direct Network & Business Development to build long term strategic plans in addition to directly supporting the immediate transformational initiatives required for VPL and Visa Direct
  • Go-to-Market & Sales Strategy

  • Lead the Commercial strategy and planning team
  • Work with Market Development, Product and Sales to ensure that a focused and customer orientated strategy it’s implemented across all consumer touch points
  • Driving global initiatives for VDP ensure that the product offering, commercial position and go to market approaches of VDP are regularly assessed and optimized.
  • Provide feedback to the Cross Border Product team on recommended enhancements, updates to sales materials, etc. to address market needs.
  • Oversee research and analysis to identify key markets and use cases for Visa Direct
  • Deal Structuring

  • Work closely with product segment teams to ensure pricing, deal construct & and overall product position are clear, relevant and highly competitive throughout
  • Qualifications

  • A high level of industry related experience, with ideally experience in business strategy and / or management consulting
  • Deep understanding of cross border payment methods, channels and players
  • Creative Self-starter with a bias toward action and proven track record for successfully developing, building, launching and commercializing sales teams
  • A proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on delivering for clients
  • Outstanding executive communication skills (verbal and visual) with an ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to broad audiences in an approachable way
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to correlate data and trends to business drivers, while thinking big and leading executive messaging.
  • This position is expected to utilize data and metrics to communicate needs with ease

  • Proven project development experience
  • Strong sense of urgency and experience driving to successful commercialization
  • Ensure personal efforts are integrated and aligned with functional objectives
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills to effectively lead cross-functional teams to drive deliverables, projects and engagements to completion
  • Take prompt, decisive action after analyzing relevant information
  • Passionate about what you do and fired up about the opportunity to transform payments working for the industry leader
  • Visa and financial / payment industry knowledge is highly desired
  • Willing to work on occasion non-standard hours to accommodate time zones
