Great Lakes London is on the lookout for a new team member to join their Claims department!

We are looking for somebody to supervise Property MGA / TPA claims relationships and performance to include all levels of pet claims in adherence with the mission statement, guidelines and operating standards of the Company, lead and participate in Technical and Due Diligence for MGA business.

Your job

Key Responsibilities :

The purpose of this role is to support the continual growth of Digital Partners portfolio through the effective claims management and oversight of third party administrators (TPAs) and partners.

This will be achieved through :

  • Build and maintain relationships with Digital Partners MGA’s / TPA’s providing effective oversite and monitoring of claims performance with the aim of minimising indemnity spend
  • Attend and lead monthly claims performance meetings internally and with TPA’s and MGA’s
  • Perform due diligence for potential MGA / TPA clients where required
  • Influence the strategy, handling and settlement of claims.
  • Maintain relationships with Client Managers, Underwriters and relevant partners providing feedback as appropriate
  • Build and maintain reputation as technical specialists and market leaders on claims related issues
  • Provide technical and operational support to the Deputy Claims Manager
  • General Duties & Tasks :

  • Supervise and handle MGA / TPA property referral claims in line with set authorities, operating standards and procedures
  • Oversite and control of claims performance providing detailed analysis of management information
  • Coordinate and conduct audits, due diligence and report findings. Participate in preparatory or follow-up discussion as the need arises.
  • Liaise with Underwriters and Client Managers.

  • On insurance business investigate and negotiate settlement of claims, collaborating closely with any co-insurers and experts and providing direction where appropriate
  • Conduct client meetings to discuss and influence the direction of claims handling from FNOL to large or contentious cases.
  • Assess and calculate case reserves.
  • Assess inflationary factors and trends to assist the underwriting and pricing of business. Co-ordinate data collection and ensure delivery within agreed timeframe.
  • Provide underwriters with feedback on insurer and insurance clients to assist in underwriting and pricing of business by identifying relevant issues and trends.
  • Where appropriate provide recommendations

  • Support systems, development and migration as needed
  • Support Wordings Specialist in analysis and revision of wordings
  • Work with the team to prioritise and allocate resources to meet the operating standards as far as possible Assist Deputy Claims Manager in prioritising and organising strategic and project work.
  • Monitor timescales for delivery

    Your profile

    Key Skills & Experience :

    We would like to find somebody with experience in handling MGA and TPA claim referrals, oversite and account performance along with a full understanding of the entire property claims life cycle process and supply chain.

    Experience in undertaking technical and due diligence audits and exposure to conduct risk and complaint management would be ideal.

    Being proficient in Microsoft Office suite is essential to the role, but if you had knowledge of Power BI, that would be very helpful.

    Qualifications and Educational Requirements :

    It isn't vital to have the ACII qualification, but equivalent work experience is needed.
