About the role & About us

The Service Manager will lead monitoring for all providers to obtain assurance over their financial and performance returns.

Strategic providers will be managed jointly with corporate services. The Service Manager will have oversight of quality assurance management carried out by locality and specialist teams to ensure consistency of approach and for sharing of good practice.

The Service Manager supports the Head of Service to monitor and control spending within cash-limited budgets, rationing provision appropriately, improving productivity and reducing unit costs.

The Service Manager works closely with the Strategic Safeguarding Manager and their team, leading investigations into identified issues at a setting or service level and participating in organisational safeguarding events.

The Service Manager will work alongside the Service Manager, Practice Quality and Improvement to identify and address significant quality issues identified at providers that could lead to or are a result of business failure.

The Service Manager will ensure that improvements are established and sustained once the Practice Quality and Improvement team have completed their work.

The Service Manager will review and continually look to improve internal processes to maximise their effectiveness as this will have an impact on care quality and should adapt to changing conditions.

As delegated by the Directorate Leadership Team and under the supervision of the Head of Service, the Quality Assurance of commissioned budget of £130 million.

Direct line management of up to 12 FTE

This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

This is a public / customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies
