As our new Graduate Landscape Architect you will be part of our landscape specialism within Ramboll, a leading engineering, design and consultancy company.

Trusted by clients to manage their most challenging environmental, health and social issues, it has more than 2,100 staff worldwide.

Our UK business employs over 250 environmental professionals in 14 locations and covers a breadth of consulting services.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be :

  • Desk-based analysis, research, data collection and interpretation
  • Site visits and technical photography
  • Preparation of written and graphic materials for design and assessment reports
  • Participation in discussions with clients, other disciplines, and stakeholders
  • Working with the wider landscape team to develop our approach to presentation and graphics
  • Informing the development of new tools for landscape design and assessment with our Digitalisation team
  • The successful candidate will be diligent, proactive and motivated, and flexible. The ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and project teams is essential.

    By the nature of the role, the candidate will need to be well organised, have good communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

    We support and encourage progress with Pathway to Chartership through mentoring and training, alongside providing a variety of project work.

    Your key deliverables over the first 12 months will be :

  • Take time to understand project / task requirements and ask questions
  • Share thoughts and ideas with the wider landscape team and Ramboll colleagues
  • Request and respond proactively to feedback, and ask for support where required
  • Be responsible for checking the accuracy and quality of own work
  • Work within allocated budgets and deadlines to support the success of the team
  • Your starting point for constant growth

    For this role, we believe your starting point is :

  • Masters / Post-Graduate degree from a Landscape Institute accredited course
  • Ability to work successfully and build relationships with colleagues / other consultants in the delivery of high quality and robust outputs
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Numerically competent
  • Well organised and able to prioritise and manage their own workload with minimal supervision
  • Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office, GIS software, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-Up, and Autodesk packages
  • Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include : an interest other environmental and engineering disciplines capabilities;
  • the flexibility to work on a wide range of projects at all stages; and working as a key member of the national landscape and environment teams in the delivery of projects.
