Job Advert Role Description
We are seeking a Cook to work within our Childrens Home in Birmingham. This is a part time position working 30 hours per week Monday-Friday.
As a Cook you will be responsible for the cooking within the home as well as the menu planning, shopping and adhering to set budgets within the home to deliver healthy, varied and nutritious diets for young people and the staff within the home.
Previous experience in planning, cooking and preparing fresh and home made meals and following agreed diet plans for individuals in recognition of medical and health related issues or cultural identity.
While the role is not to deliver direct support to our young people, you will need to demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic approach to work within the setting and with our young people which may include supporting young people to cook and teaching them necessary skills toward cooking and independent living.
All support staff will also receive additional training based around safeguarding and working with vulnerable young people.
Some level of administrative tasks may be required as part of the homes monitoring and evidencing and compliance to Regulations and Health & Safety and food Hygiene Standards, full support and training will be provided alongside this.
A full driving licence is required.
