Job Description

Domus are recruiting on behalf of a National Charity who are seeking an exceptional Head of Quality. They are sector leading in their coproduction approaches with an excellent reputation for our services for people with complex needs.

The Head of Quality will be a key part of the senior care leadership team and will be responsible for the quality assurance across all care services (including people with learning disabilities, physical and mental health needs and acquired brain injury) supporting the delivery of safe, innovative, enriching and high-quality support which exceeds regulatory requirements.

You will have a strong track record of transforming services through quality assurance processes and have a robust working knowledge for the needs of our customer groups and have driven best practice and innovation.

You will have strong experience in Mental Health and Learning Disabilities services to add further expertise to our work in this area.

The post holder will play a critical role in our relationships with local authorities and health bodies, regulatory services and CQC.

Key responsibilities

  • The Head of Quality will be a key part of the senior care leadership team and will be responsible for the quality assurance across all care services (including people with learning disabilities, physical and mental health needs and acquired brain injury) supporting the delivery of safe, innovative, enriching and high-quality support which exceeds regulatory requirements, demonstrates and drives best practice and focuses on enabling everyone to lead aspiring lives.
  • You will ensure the organisation’s policies and procedures are followed at all times when delivering services. In particular, to be aware of, comply with and promote at all times :
  • Safeguarding policies and practices.
  • Equality & Diversity policies and practices.
  • Health & Safety policies and procedures, in order to protect your own safety and the safety of others.
  • Have a key role in the transformation and development plans for the charity, helping to promote excellence and consistency within existing services whilst supporting approaches which offer innovation and creativity by shaping the systems, processes and practices to achieve the best outcomes with our people.
  • Quality

  • Leads on ensuring there is a robust care quality assurance framework, which is embedded, evolves and enables continuous improvement.
  • Develops and monitors the Quality & Continuous Improvement Strategy and associated operational plans across our organisation
  • Develops our framework of joined-up quality monitoring, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement systems whilst recognising the different delivery models across services.
  • Ensures reporting to CQC is of the highest quality
  • Supports input to quality standards and policy development by people we support, engaging with the Community and quality checkers to ensure their voices and aspirations drives improvements.
  • Leads on the development of consistent and accessible policies and guidance to enhance practice and monitor quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Plays a key role in the Senior Care Leadership Team, supporting the Executive Management Team
  • Ensures participation in decision-making processes and contributing to good organisational governance by reporting directly to the Management Board through the Care Quality Committee.
  • Undertakes a programme of quality reviews both service based and thematic, along with the Quality and Referrals Manager, and ensuring improvement plans are delivered by service managers and area managers.
  • Promotes events and activity relating to Quality First’ & Driving up Quality’ initiatives and other relevant best practice standards
  • Is the organisational lead’ for safeguarding, responsible for the Safeguarding Policy and other associated policies (e.g. MCA / DOLS / LPS)
  • Provides expert advice, guidance and support on all aspects of quality improvement, development and compliance
  • Develops and maintains internal and external networks to increase opportunities to promote co-production and outcome-focused support planning
  • Ensures feedback processes from surveys, complaints and complements, audits and reviews are well developed and meaningful and all learning is disseminated to teams and embedded in practice.
  • Leads on the development of our evidence-based outcome tool and to ensure it evolves to best captures people’s aspirations and journeys towards independence and full and aspiring lives.
  • Supports CQC regulatory compliance, evidencing and team coaching
  • Supports meeting contractual, commissioning and best practice charters and standards
  • Develops new service models in liaison with the Clinical Lead and Director of Care
  • Participates in the Community and Family Carer Forums, to support meaningful coproduction.
