Redefine your personal best.

Stantec is working in partnership with Thames Water and wider stakeholders to develop innovative, sustainable and efficient solutions to their needs by applying genuinely new ways of working.

We are looking for driven individuals who think differently and love to challenge conventional thinking to join us in a growing, collaborative team of likeminded engineers working to meet the unprecedented industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges.

Key to our future is the growth of our civil engineering team to support the water sector and currently we are looking for a Civil Engineer (Area Lead) to join the team.

We are excited by our potential growth prospects and this is a good opportunity to join an ambitious team that will provide you with plenty of scope for career progression in the coming years.

Working from home or either our High Wycombe office or Reading office, the Civil Engineer (Area Lead) will support Project Managers and Project Technical Leads by providing technical expertise to ensure that projects are delivered to cost, schedule, technical and quality standards to meet both client and Stantec expectations.

About you

To be considered for this role, you must be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or any other relevant subject and working towards Chartered or Incorporated Membership of a relevant engineering institution eg.

ICE. The successful candidate will have civil engineering design experience within the water industry, ideally on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

You will be experienced in leading and collaborating with technical staff, coordinating subject-matter experts, and mentoring team members while planning and delivering high quality work to budget and program.

The successful candidate will have been in a client facing role previously and demonstrate the aptitude to work across operational departments.

You must demonstrate excellent communication skills and proficiency with key O365 applications.

While not essential requirements of the role, the successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of Thames Water standards and operations as well as water industry construction experience or water and wastewater network modelling.

You may have exposure to working alongside contractors and their designer and the ability to produce written technical reports to a high standard.

As we look to further diversify and grow our wider Stantec UK business, you will potentially be presented with future opportunities across our diversified business lines.
