Facilities Supervisor The Facilities Supervisor will supervise and deliver the daily Facilities Management (FM) service to Schools across Hackney and its users, the staff, students, parents and governors. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the in-house FM team to improve the on-site ability to respond and deal with faults and defects.
  • Identify and report to the Assistant Facilities Manager any training gaps of the in-house FM Team to meet current and future requirements of the contract.
  • To supervise the reactive and planned maintenance regimes to maximise the availability and lifecycle of the installed equipment and services.
  • To be a highly visible proactive presence in the school providing front line first calls interaction with the school management teams and the school teaching team.
  • The Facilities Supervisor must be aware of and liaise with the school on any building related variations and or incidents.
  • Provide support to the Assistant Facilities Manager in all other operational requirements as needed.
  • Update and maintain the CAFM system on a daily basis, ensuring that work orders are prioritised and completed as per the Authority Requirements.
  • Responding to out of hours alarm activations as necessary and required.
  • Monitor the buildings energy footprint in line with the contract, energy management plan and targets.
  • Taking responsibility for monitoring the work of contractors on site as directed by the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Carry out regular inspections of the school to remove any graffiti, to carry out any minor repairs and to report to the Assistant Facilities Manager major repairs requiring further work.
  • Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to carry out minor repairs, painting and grounds maintenance.
  • Trade background in Plumbing / Electrical / Carpentry is preferable.
  • Evidence of all training undertaken relevant to the post.
  • To be able to work effectively in a school, with staff and students.
  • To be reliable, willing, cheerful and have excellent health and be able to meet the physical demands of the post.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships throughout the school and to fit in with and enhance the existing team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and to write simple reports in an accurate and concise manner.
  • Awareness and commitment to follow policies, procedures and working practices.
