About the team

As part of the Finance team, you will be given the chance to gain experience working for a Fashion retailer in a fast paced team.

The Finance Analyst is a key role in Finance and the wider business. You will need to be an Excel wizz’, be used to self-

reviewing your work and enjoy the challenge of working under time pressure to prepare trading information and beautiful presentations for a fixed deadline.

The GANT UK Finance team is energetic, ambitious and sociable who would like someone who wants to be part of the team’ as well as visible to the business outside of Finance.

The Finance Analyst will need to work closely with both the Finance team and, particularly, the more commercial parts of the business such that they can build their commercial understanding.

Management Accountants and the Credit Controller to better understand the numbers. The Finance Analyst will also support the Financial Controller and Finance Director on ad-

hoc projects and commercial analysis.

This is therefore a terrific and unusual opportunity for somebody who, with strong numerical skills, also has a genuine interest in learning about a commerical business.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and building robust, accurate and largely automated excel spreadsheets will form a significant part of this role.
  • Tracking and reporting on key KPIs.
  • Providing analysis, interpretation and insight into financial performance and showing a willingness to constructively challenge current processes and methodologies.
  • Preparing information for reports for senior stakeholders in the UK and Sweden (Global HQ).
  • Take personal responsibility to engage with key stakeholders to successfully form relationships across the business.
  • A study package is available for CIMA or similar qualification.
  • Your skills

  • Demonstrated experience in an analytical role not necessarily a finance role) within a business is preferred. Applications may also be considered from graduates of numerical university / college courses, if accompanied by the right personal characteristics (below).
  • Proactive, bright, inquisitive and drives the agenda a willingness to learn and be involved is essential.
  • Highly organised, committed to meeting deadlines and communicating expectations with stakeholders
  • We don’t expect this person to have any particular Retail or Finance experience. Excel skills, a competency to learn and use various IT systems, and experience working with data with a high degree of accuracy are more important.
  • We expect this person to have some experience of delivering reports to senior stakeholders and working to tight deadlines, whether in work or study

  • Strong Excel skills are a pre-requisite. Also some experience with other tools such as PowerPoint, Qlikview (BI), CBR, SAP, Google Analytics etc.
  • is advantageous but not essential.
