The Role :

Reporting to the Depot Manager and the Operations Supervisor, the successful candidates will be required to undertake duties associated with that of a skilled Industrial Services Operative that will include the clean-up of any spill in a variety of environments using resource and equipment.

In addition, and a fundamental feature of the daily duties of this post, the postholders will be required to operate any Company vehicles for which they are suitably qualified.

Required to operate anywhere in the UK, with the need to stay away from home overnight, the successful candidates will operate as part of a team, working alongside other employees, fulfilling works for major companies and independent customers.

Key tasks and accountabilities associated with this post are as follows :

  • Operating Company vehicles including HGV vehicles or any other vehicle the post holder is suitably qualified to operate.
  • Ensuring all vehicle checks are undertaken prior to commencing any works.
  • Compliance with tachograph regulations and reporting in the required manner.
  • Reporting any vehicle defects to supervision as soon as identified and completing vehicle defect report in such circumstances.
  • Ensuring all uplifting and offloading of product and materials is undertaken in the correct and compliant manner with high regard for health and safety and correct working practices.
  • In addition, the postholder will be required to participate in the cleaning of the tanker barrel, adhering to safe working practices and ensuring correct PPE worn for this task.

  • Ensuring the security of all Company vehicles and equipment.
  • Carrying out works in accordance with health and safety to include provided RAMS documentation with full responsibility for reading and signing such documentation.
  • Cleaning all plant and equipment post job and identifying repair work required.
  • Liaising with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company.
  • Completing all works paperwork and submitting in a timely manner to divisional supervision.
  • Liaising with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements of possible opportunities.
  • Any other duties for which the postholder is qualified for and capable of undertaking.
  • Driver / Operative Requirements :

  • Must possess relative licence categories to operate and control HGV including static and articulated vehicles.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of completing RAMS documentation.
  • Knowledge of tachograph regulations.
  • Willingness to be flexible and deliver excellent customer care and undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rota and availability for regular overtime
  • Self-motivated and reliable
