Our newly formed UK MajorProgrammes & Projects Group is involved with diverse range of projects thatinclude some of the highest profile infrastructure and construction programmescurrently in the UK.

The group works closely with a range of inhouse services to bring a unique blend of technical excellence and truly singlesource capability to clients

Our Project Controls team based in Yorkis looking for a Programme Controls Manager to lead the team in delivery aniconic.

The team are currently working on Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU)which is a £multi-million, multi year programme from Network Rail focusing onthe upgrade of rail infrastructure in the North of England.

As such we are looking for someone whocan thrive in a busy team and is excited by the challenge of working on one ofthe most prestigious rail projects in the UK.

Responsibilities :

  • Monthly CostReporting, Costing Change, Quarterly Re-forecasts, Setting Annual Budgets, andAd Hoc Cost Reporting as and when required.
  • Assist inthe management of the performance of the cost control activities to contractscope, cost, schedule and the objectives of the Project.
  • Responsiblefor developing cost work plans based on agreed schedules, including resourceand contract packages.
  • Manage andmaintain budget and forecasts costs and schedules for the West Main Workscontract regularly reporting project status to managers and escalating issuesand problems as appropriate
  • Develop anddeliver regular and ad hoc reports and analysis, reporting project status andissues as required
  • Develop andmaintain good working relationships with project delivery managers and otherinternal stakeholders in order to understand and meet individual people andproject needs, escalating issues and problems as appropriate
  • Provision ofregular progress reports.
  • Identification& implementations of improvements to processes, procedures & systems toincrease efficiency & effectiveness.
  • Maintainawareness of project policies, processes and standards, to ensure compliance.
  • Comply withHealth, Safety, Security and Environment policies and standards to maintain asafe workplace.
  • Skills andexperience :

  • Intermediate / Advanced in MS OfficeSuite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in program controls systemssuch as Primavera P6, cost management tools such as Ecosys,
  • High level of capability in datamanipulation tools such as Microsoft Excel
  • Technical and practical application ofestimating, pricing and costing
  • To manage the production ofconstruction schedules and possess the knowledge of calculating physicalpercentage complete and calculating Earned Value
  • Sound knowledge of project controls,broad knowledge of cost, risk, change, schedule and estimating and specificknowledge in the area of earned value management
  • Articulate presentation skills
  • High quality report writing skills
  • Able to deliver the right product totight deadlines
  • PersonSpecification :

  • Eligible to work in the EU
  • Degree or equivalent in QuantitySurveying, Project Management, Construction Cost Engineering, ConstructionEconomics or related field
  • This individual will have experience ofsupporting teams in project settings, ideally with some experience of the railindustry.

    In addition, we need someone who can lead and take ownership of thecoordination of project documentation. The ideal candidate will be extremelyexperienced in Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

    Also, some experience of planningsoftware such as Primavera would be extremely beneficial.
