What we do :

The Client Asset Oversight Office (CAOO) is led by the Client Asset Oversight Officer who has responsibility for overseeing the operational effectiveness of systems and controls designed to achieve compliance with the CASS rules.

The CAOO provides CASS Oversight responsibility for BNYMIL and BNYMLB. The CAOO work in conjunction with Compliance and Risk to provide CASS guidance to all business lines.

This particular role will have a primary focus on supporting the ongoing maintenance of the CASS risk and control framework (CASS Mapping Framework, CMF) and developing meaningful CASS Management Information (MI) to facilitate change and improvement in the control environment across all stakeholders.

They will also be able to effectively manage competing priorities and ensure appropriate escalation of issues and concerns during the execution of BAU and Project related engagements.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with all BNYM Lines of Business and our partners in Client Asset Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit.

The successful candidate will :

  • Works with senior Control professionals to maintain the CASS Mapping Framework, provide control testing, control and risk education, operational risk support, and regulatory support across the business.
  • Works with the business to understand the controls currently in place to minimize risk.
  • Assists in the documentation of evidence of successful and efficient performance of controls.
  • Assists in analysing control and risk management processes and creating reports on issues and areas of improvement throughout the business.
  • Assist and / or lead the development and continual improvement of Management Information reports to ensure data and metrics are relevant and add value.
  • Able to work independently, but also to work across diverse regional and functional teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent PC skills including utilisation of advanced excel functions as well as data analysis skills.
  • General knowledge of the regulatory framework.
  • A level of understanding of the FCA CASS regime and wider regulatory environment would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of Operations and Custody Model structures advantageous
  • Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.
  • Create and carry out data maintenance checks within the CASS Mapping Framework
  • Works on projects of limited size and levels of complexity.
  • Participating in regular governance meetings
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required
  • 0-3 years of total work experience preferred. Related internship experience preferred.
  • Operations experience, or an understanding of custody would be advantageous.
