What’s the role?

As the Groupage Team Leader you will be responsible for managing a small team of Groupage Consolidators and FLT Drivers to deliver excellent service to our small pallet customers.

You will be managing our small pallet hauliers, allocating work, rating and dealing with invoicing queries and any delivery issues.

You will be overseeing the effective grouping of loads as well as stepping in to assist as and where needed, all whilst maintaining a high level of customer service for large volumes of load fill.

What will I be responsible for?

  • Monitor the load fill for ALL Groupage customers to ensure all resources are being effectively used
  • Effectively planning small or part orders, taking into account : load fills, vehicle offloading times, distance between drops, depot location, reload points and customer or delivery point specific requirements
  • Constantly monitor accurate unloading and loading within the Consolidation Centre
  • Manage the day to day reporting of returns within the Consolidation Centre and regular stock check
  • Sub-Contracting Management, inclusive of : Allocation of work, Rating, Raising PO’s / queries, chasing returns & proof of returns and GTS housekeeping
  • Oversee the management of absence and holidays for the team
  • Controlling the flow of communication at the site (updating the intranet / notice-boards)
  • Manage, plan and complete the one to one and appraisal process for the team
  • Ensuring that all personnel files are up to date incorporating licence validation, personal details, completed training etc.
  • To be able to learn all roles within the department to cover holidays / absences
  • What kind of person are you looking for?

    Due to the nature of the role we are looking for a dependable and committed individual, with previous experience in a similar transport related position.

    You should have a good working knowledge of Working Time Directive and EU Drivers Hours’ regulations and be PC literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

    Strong problem solving skills and an ability to think analytically and creatively. Knowledge of GTS or similar fleet systems, would also be advantageous.
