Accounts Assistant

Full time, permanent position

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to further develop their career within a fast growing and ambitious contemporary lifestyle brand.

Working as part of a busy Finance Team, this position will be responsible for ensuring the financial transactions of the business are efficiently and effectively recorded on the company's NetSuite platform, as well as providing general support to the Finance Team and commercial support to the wider company.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, approachable and well organised professional person with a positive attitude and an excellent numerical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities will include :

  • Processing customer related transactions e.g. invoices, refunds, receipts etc.
  • Processing supplier related transactions e.g. invoices, credits, payments etc.
  • Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers ensuring customer and supplier settlement on time.
  • Processing merchant account, credit card, petty cash and customer finance transactions and reconciling control accounts.
  • Preparing and actioning daily and monthly bank account reconciliations.
  • Processing and reconciling employee related transactions.
  • Processing stock order transactions.
  • Preparing accounts analysis and processing approved journals / adjustments.
  • Assisting in the month-end and year-end procedures.
  • Dealing with customer or supplier accounts queries.
  • Other ad hoc duties as may be required.

  • Have the following experience :

  • Strong and demonstrable Bookkeeping / Finance Administration experience.
  • Finance / Accounting qualifications relevant to the role.
  • Significant experience of using accounting software.
  • Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including strong Excel skills.
  • Good understanding of VAT accounting.
  • The following would also be an advantage :

  • Experience of working with an online retail business.
  • Previous experience of working with foreign exchange transactions.
  • Knowledge and experience of ERP systems as we adapt and change our current systems in line with the growing business.
  • This is a full time permanent position. Salary £25,000 to £28,000 depending on experince.
