Planning and Performance Controller - Maternity Leave, 12-18 Months - (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)

The opportunity :

A maternity cover opportunity for 12-18 months has arisen in the finance team of the Group Legacy solutions business (ZLS).

Reporting to the Financial Controller for Zurich Legacy Solutions (ZLS), the candidate will provide central assistance in all aspects of financial planning and performance management for the Group ZLS segment, to ensure timely, accurate and efficient reporting of all key deliverables internally and to Group.

The successful candidate will also advise on PPM requirements for all aspects of the portfolio life cycle, from onboarding into ZLS from other Zurich divisions, through the preparation of the portfolios to market and transaction assistance to enable an efficient transaction, at a commercially viable price.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a small team.

Key Responsibilities :

Responsible for the timeliness and quality of all core planning and performance management (PPM) deliverables for the ZLS segment including consolidation of all portfolios across EMEA, APAC and the US of profit and loss reporting with variance and expense analysis

Responsible for local expense management including development of reporting and analysis and robust challenge to cost owners where required

Assist the Financial Controller in the management of the PPM process for the segment and coordination of the annual plan process both under IFRS4 and IFRS17

Provide high-quality financial analysis and insight on the business performance for the business, both to internal ZLS stakeholders and to Group

Manage key relationships, coordinating with Group finance and shared service teams utilised by ZLS across Zurich, in the preparation of planning and performance deliverables

Preparation of the annual financial business plan for ZLS, working closely with key internal stakeholders within ZLS, the ZLS Exec team and the Group planning team

Production and monitoring of key performance indicators used to measure the success of the division

Identification and implementation of process improvement opportunities to increase efficiencies for ZLS Finance and act as a catalyst to drive change and standardisation.

Provide relevant finance support and insight to ZLS stakeholders to assist in decision making

Manage people and direct reports within the team.

Manage the hiring and deployment process of direct reports.

Your skills and experience :

Qualified Accountant, preferably with three years post qualification experience

A minimum of three years of Insurance experience preferred

Strong knowledge of applying IFRS

Previous experience in people management preferred

Experience working with and influencing inter-departmental teams without direct supervisory authority

Strong Microsoft office experience particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and model development

The reward :

The salary offered for this role is between (£60,000 - £70,000) depending on experience. As well as this we offer an excellent lifestyle benefits package which includes :
