A regional field-based role working as part of a forward-thinking HR Advisory Team providing advice, coaching and support to managers with HR issues and Employment Law across various sectors of our business.
This position is offered on a part-time basis, as a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Building the capability of our management teams to make decisions through a commercial and best practice approach. Using MI information to manage succession planning and performance management to support our business growth and assist with driving culture change.
With involvement in key projects driving effective business improvements to deliver HR objectives aligned to company business strategy.
Duties will include
Working as part of the HR Advisory Team reporting to respective HR Business Partners working in collaboration with other Group functions and all levels of Operational Management
Working operationally aiding delivery of change management projects involving restructure / redundancies, changes to terms and conditions and TUPE
Providing generalist HR support by coaching managers of people on policies and procedures; ensuring consistency across sectors in disciplinary, grievance, performance management, recruitment, selection procedures, and employment tribunals
Supporting managers with multiple concurrent HR cases
Supporting the delivery and facilitation of HR Workshops
Supporting organisational change, including restructuring and TUPE
Understanding business needs around commercial awareness, building and maintaining strong relationships, influencing how we can approach employee relation matters from a commercial perspective as well as supporting with risk mitigation
Working with managers to minimize all legal risks to the business and the associated costs
Flexibility in providing support to other sectors of the business outside of the regional area
Supporting and delivering change and new initiatives; contributing to HR projects as and when required
Contributing to HR initiatives and strategies to address challenges and identify opportunities to improve
Attendance management; monitoring long-term absence; Requesting medical reports; monitoring employee return to work in line with the Equality Act
Keeping up to date and maintaining own employment law knowledge, including changes to legislation
Supporting the communication of changes to processes and procedures, including consistency and driving of required standards
The successful candidate
CIPD fully qualified / working towards CIPD Level 7 or equivalent
Will be able to provide evidence of ongoing CPD
Experience of working as part of an HR Advice team in collaboration with HR Business Partners
Demonstrable involvement in change management projects involving restructure / redundancies, changes to T’s & C’s and TUPE
Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Have a positive and focused attitude when dealing with all colleagues
Be able to take personal responsibility
Have a flexible and positive attitude towards work
Be keen to continuously improve own learning and development
Ability to analyse data and trends
This is a regional site-based role with the occasional requirement to work in nationally when required from any office. This will also include the requirement to attend regular management meetings at our Head Office in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
This is a fixed term contract to provide maternity cover for a colleague who works 3 days per week, totalling 22.5 hours per week.
The salary is based upon experience and will be pro rata’d to reflect the working hours. The position affords a company vehicle and fuel card in addition to 20 days’ annual leave plus 8 Bank Holidays and an auto enrolment pension.
Initially offered as a 9 Month FTC, this could be extended to 12 months.
