As the Senior Facilities Officer at Drax, you’ll be focused on the day to day running of the facilities and contracts such as HVAC, plumbing, fabric, mechanical & electrical services, grounds maintenance, however you’ll also support your colleagues in the facilities team managing a wide range of suppliers delivering cleaning, catering, pest control and portable fire appliances etc.
Day to day you’ll spend your time managing contractors on site, overseeing safe working practices, procuring goods and services as needed (this could be anything from a stationery order to arranging the delivery of temporary buildings) and planning and managing facilities related projects.
On a site like Drax, the facilities team are responsible for office buildings, and non-operational areas across site, so experience supporting an industrial business of some kind would really help you hit the ground running.
You would be working for one of the largest energy generators in the UK, it’s a unique place to come to work every day.
This role is your chance to bring your expertise in facilities management to a new opportunity. As a member of the facilities team you would be tasked with raising the profile of the role and bringing a proactive and strategic approach to the way we manage our facilities.
You will need mechanical and electrical (M&E) and facilities management experience as well as good communication skills enabling interaction with all levels of the business.
A plumbing or joinery background within a facilities environment would be a real bonus.
Given you’ll be managing the safe working practices of others, IOSH managing safely is required, as is demonstrable negotiation, influencing and relationship building skills to bring a customer service focus to the role.
