Role Purpose

We are looking for a Licensing Standards and Enforcement Officer within the Licensing Service of Legal and Licensing to implement the provisions of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, the Civic Government (Scotland)Act 1982, the Gambling Act 2005 and all other relevant legislation.

The post remit includes acting as a statutory consultee for Licensing applications, issuing compliance notices and referring matters of non compliance to the Licensing Board and Civic Government Licencing committee.

Where this is a requirement for the successful candidate to work from home as part of the role you will be provided with the necessary IT equipment by the Council, however, you will be responsible for the provision of any required furniture.

Essential

HNC in a relevant subject, or equivalent qualification.

Continuing professional development covering a range of Licensing Work.

Post Holder must complete and comply with the training requirements as established under Section 16 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005

Paralegal qualification in Licensing to be completed within 2 years of appointment. Post holder will be expected to have completed 40% of the course within 12 months.
