As the successful Quality Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process improvements and making a significant contribution to the strategic goal of quality improvement and lead continuous improvement efforts aimed at meeting quality, cost, and on-
time delivery thereby ensuring Customer satisfaction.
This role also supports the on-going maintenance of the site Quality Management System to meet AS9100 requirements. You will have gained knowledge / experience in an AS9100 / ISO9001 quality environment along with several years' experience in mechanical or optical engineering.
Your main duties will include :
Providing guidance in the development of procedures to drive improvement and AS9100 compliance.
Supporting Operations in achieving an environment of continuous improvement through identifying best practice and championing changes (working closely with Shop Engineers).
Support to FRACAS reviews to ensure the system is administered correctly and that the required behaviours are adopted.
Participate and contribute in New Product Introduction Process and understand specification development and verification upon transition to production.
Planning of product acceptance requirements, in-process, final inspection and FAI.
Conducting product & process audits.
Attending the various business / product reviews to ensure the business is addressing all aspects of the requirement to the satisfaction of the Customer.
Candidate Specification :
A good standard of formal education (preferably HNC / D level or higher)
An understanding and practical experience of metrology (optical and / or mechanical)
Experience of the practical application of problem solving tools / techniques.
Microsoft Office Suite, as detailed technical report generation will be required.
Ability to work under pressure to achieve demanding objectives.
