Prime Brokerage, Funding & Finance Technology (PBFFT) provide technology solutions to Client Financing and Clearing businesses primarily covering Prime Brokerage, Firm-

wide Funding and Liquidity Management covering Bank Resource Management and Treasury, and parts of Wealth Management. Senior Java developer to join the Portfolio Accounting and Performance Team.

The system provides P&L calculation, Position keeping functionality for multiple business units in the firm. The system is a distributed java and DB2 / Sybase architecture with multiple components processing multiple asset classes like equities, binds, options, Swaps and other OTC derivatives.

Team Profile :

Finance IT in Glasgow is looking for a C# / WPF Developer to assist in building solutions for the Regulatory area.

The Finance Technology team is a global organization with around 100 employees providing technology solutions to regulatory and legal entity controllers across the regions, working on a combination of regional and global solutions that support the firm’s Finance Department in the accounting, regulatory controllership, financial reporting and Tax functions.

The primary focus of the team is on delivery of outstanding solutions to our internal business clients. We encourage every member of the team to learn the business in addition to being outstanding software developers.

Primary Responsibilities :

The candidate will be working with the Regulatory team building solutions that fit our user’s needs. Morgan Stanley work with the regulatory agencies to provide answers to some complex calculations as well as give our internal users the ability to analyze the data and help present the reports to these agencies.

The developer will work on building the C# UI leveraging WPF. The UI will be utilised globally by controllers so the key is to ensure the requirements are met and any localization is supported.

The UI will leverage data from a Scala based SOAP middle layer, so understanding of XML as well as multi-threading is a must.

Skills Required :

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Software development experiences
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle management
  • Knowledge of C# and mostly WPF
  • Working knowledge of Database
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and work on the same to meet business requirements
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Skills Desired :

  • High performance non-relational database (e.g. KDB)
  • Working experience in finance services industry
