About the role

Here at Cavendish Nuclear, we are looking to employ an Engineering Manager to join our Business Winning Department. Cavendish Nuclear, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Babcock International Group, is a leading nuclear services company.

From servicing existing nuclear power plants, building the next generation of nuclear power plant, decommissioning some of the most complex nuclear sites in the world, to helping to keep the UK’s fleet of nuclear powered submarines at sea, our people innovate to deliver nuclear services safer, faster, at lower cost.

Working within the Business Winning Department and reporting directly to the Business Winning Director you will, lead the planning, management and delivery of multi discipline bids involving the management, coordination and integration of multi discipline tasks.

The multi discipline bids are UK and International and include decommissioning, waste management and nuclear new build such as reactor technology and power generation.

This role leads the Engineering Team to deliver technical solutions to budget, targets and estimating the engineering scope for Projects from concept design to full Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC).

The management responsibilities include the identification and development of strategic capabilities (people, processes, methods and tools) to meet project and task objectives.

You will ensure effective management of multi discipline teams, promote effective co-operation across Engineering and other functional teams, ensure effective management of the customer, and technical management of the engineering output.

You will manage resource demands and development of capability skills, ensure project and technical audits and reviews are planned & executed and support the business winning process through input into and review of tender requirements, including estimates.

What do I need to do the role?

You will need have a minimum of an Engineering degree with significant demonstrable experience. Hold Chartered Engineer status and have demonstrable management experience, including experience in managing multi-discipline teams to deliver analysis activities on a range of project types

We would also like you to have :

  • Experience in managing engineering scope for Projects from concept design to full Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)
  • Knowledge of the wider (i.e. beyond just proposal writing) Business Winning process
  • Ability to analyse complex client needs and determine a suitable response
