The International Office is responsible for the recruitment and support of international students, driving the internationalisation of the University, and ensuring that it retains and enhances its global profile.

The International Compliance team plays a crucial role in supporting the University’s internationalisation agenda, by contributing to the increase in international student numbers on campus, through its daily operations, and maintaining licences with Government bodies.

The team provide a wide-range of services and support to students, academic and professional services staff, which includes :

  • ensuring the University is compliant with UKVI and US Department of Education rules and regulations;
  • providing information and support that is relevant to a student during their stay in the UK;
  • administration of scholarships and discounts;
  • welcoming international students to the University
  • Role

    You will co-ordinate and manage the delivery of financial assistance programmes, international student scholarships, tuition fee discounts and operational plans relating to funding for international students that link directly to institutional strategies.

    Supporting the International Compliance Manager (Funding) in the operational management of international funding related internal systems and interfaces, processes and administration, you will ensure the University’s institutional compliance with external bodies and internal regulations.

    You will co-ordinate and manage the University’s sponsoring agencies and their students, during all the stages of the student lifecycle, managing the commission payments for educational agents.

    You will also cover for the International Compliance Officer (UKVI) in their absence.

    Essential Relevant Experience

  • Knowledge of Federal Student Loan funding.
  • Knowledge of international student funding.
  • Ability to proactively improve existing systems / work methods.
  • Experience of working in a large busy office environment in a large, complex organisation.
  • Experience of working with / providing a service to students and clients from a varying backgrounds and cultures, often communicating highly complex and sensitive information.
  • Experience of working within a legislative, policy or procedural framework.
