Cobham Aviation Services have an exciting opportunity for a Sales & Business Development Manager with experience of Electronic Warfare.
As the Sales & Business Development Manager you will be accountable to the CAvS UK Director Sales & Business Development (S&BD).
The Manager of S&BD is directly responsible for the identification of new opportunities across the Business Unit (BU) value stream portfolio in support of the delivery of BU orders and sales targets.
The position will focus on the business win of opportunities within military and para-public markets but will also support other BD capture and opportunity delivery as directed including activity as required in support of the renewal of existing contracts.
The prime location is the Cobham Aviation Services facility located at Hurn, Christchurch. 20% International Travel required
As the Sales & Business Development Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include :
Minimum 2 years proven track record within an S&BD function.
Sound knowledge of the aviation industry and its safety and compliance requirements.
The demonstrated ability to be innovative, think laterally and produce comprehensive, well considered business proposals
Military or operational background in Electronic
Ability to live in the UK
The ability to travel and work both in the UK and overseas
As the Sales & Business Development Manager your main responsibilities will involve :
Ensure the safety, statutory and Cobham compliance and integrity of all policies, procedures and activities within the department and from a winning business perspective across the BU;
Be the lead for medium to large sized opportunities (CAT2 up to circa £10M per order) in the government, military and para public markets including, but not limited to, the development of customer engagement plans and business win strategies;
Capture, lead and bid manage other new opportunities in new and existing markets (including contract renewals) as tasked by the Director Sales and Business Development;
Conduct business within the Cobham reporting and governance requirements including business ethics and compliance;
Lead and / or contribute as appropriate to the Lifecycle Management (LCM) process, from the concept / prospect reviews to the solution development and contracting stages either as the customer SME or, if tasked, as the Bid Manager;
Manage allocated P-code funds within the budget;
Support the development of a central client relationship management system;
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders based on trust and mutual respect;
Interact with business development functions across Cobham where appropriate;
Provide research, analysis and support into the BU 3 & 5 year long-term strategic planning process during peak strategic planning periods;
Support defence and aviation events and air shows where applicable;
Support and contribute to the continual improvement of the S&BD function.
