Are you a supervisor within the Refrigeration Engineering sector, looking for your next step into a full Supervisory role, known internally as a Managing Engineer role?

If so, we're looking for an experienced Engineer with previous supervisory experience to join our team, delivering services for our multi-site supermarket clients throughout the Devon and Cornwall area.

  • Salary : up to £48,801 (dependent on experience)
  • Door to door pay
  • 4% bonus, subject to achievement of targets. (historically paid out)

    You will have responsibility for leading a team of Refrigeration Engineers ensuring your client's supermarket refrigeration systems within your area are fully maintained, operating at full potential and that tasks are completed on time and to budget.

    You'll enjoy working in a varied, fast-paced environment. We need you to have the skills and expertise to demonstrate effective communication with clients, management, and colleagues, and take ownership of proactively managing your field team.

    In addition, you will need to be well versed in providing guidance, coaching and support to your team to ensure they are working efficiently and have everything they need to do their job well.

    As this role involves a lot of administrative duties such as call out rota coordination, HR processes including investigations, disciplinaries, annual leave, performance reviews as well as a range of other reporting and management-related tasks you will need to be confident using IT systems and happy to undertake this work alongside day to day operational responsibilities.

    As well as this you will be responsible for :

  • Providing technical support and training to Refrigeration Engineering and refrigeration cabinet cleaning staff.
  • Providing technical support as required, e.g. advice regarding major operational issues and aid with major incidents
  • Assisting the team in delivering high-quality PPM work
  • Working alongside the Field Support Manager to deal with and make safe all Health & Safety related issues in own area and that of engineers, report and escalate as necessary, including any matters relating to PPE
  • Assisting the Field Support Manager with effective budgetary management of parts and material usage, reporting overspends and variances to budget
  • Attend client and manager meetings on behalf of the Field Support Manager and provide general cover during periods of absence of the Field Support Manager.
  • Time served experience, working on a mobile basis in a refrigeration role previously
  • City & Guilds qualified in Refrigeration (or equivalent), including F-Gas
  • Experience in an FM environment and have Refrigeration Engineering experience within Supermarkets
  • Demonstrable management / supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication skills and work ethic
  • Valid UK driver's license

    This position has a requirement for 1 in 4 on call.
