Cranswick Country Foods is one of the largest pork processors in the UK, dealing with multiple customers, the foodservice sector and further processors.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for x2 Shift Managers to join the busy Cold Stores team at the King George Dock site.

The main purpose of the role is to effectively and efficiently oversee the safe running of the shifts ensuring that customer requirements are achieved in line with site policies & procedures and all relevant legislation as directed by customers and / or enforcement agencies.

The main duties are :

  • Produce up-date information at the end of each shift, communicating to the Cold Store Management team and administration
  • Receipt pick and despatch Bulk Fresh Stock and product for export
  • Receipt / freeze and store fresh product
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time
  • Update the Cockpit and information boards at the beginning of the shift and follow up any issues raised
  • Ensure Operatives follow all operational procedures including the correct scanning on receipt, movement to and from locations and despatch
  • Ensure temperatures are recorded accurately and all paperwork is completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure all additional tasks are recorded for charging purposes on the Intake / Despatch check sheet
  • Ensure operatives are qualified to use specific types of MHE before allocating tasks and ensure that all pre-start checks have been carried out
  • Complete, record and report stock take and any anomalies
  • Ensure loads are picked and despatched accurately without delay, reporting any issues that may arise immediately to Cold Store Management
  • Ensure all operatives are wearing the correct PPE and wearing it appropriately
  • Maintain satisfactory standards of performance, safety & hygiene
  • Deliver on key performance indicators
  • Mentor and coach people
  • Improve processes and practices
  • Carry out activities with full awareness of their impact on the environment, in terms of people and the local area
  • Objectively assess the team’s performance and develop improvement plans
