This risk team supports the entire Financial Markets (FM) division with operational risk related : identification and control framework, management, remediation, tracking, and reporting.
Department scope also includes working globally with central partners in the Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) departments to ensure adherence to regulations and to support of audit needs.
This individual will be responsible for supporting operational risk management for the Financial Markets Division. This high profile role is pivotal in ensuring :
The appropriate level of transparency to Exec and senior product stakeholders regarding risk profiles
The resiliency of existing risk management framework is maintained within product operations and processes
Development of new methodology to track and report risk exposure to promote transparency for remediation facilitation
Compliance to major regulatory requirements
Protection of sensitive customer data
Duties & accountabilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following :
Present operational : risks, incidents, and performance on a monthly basis to senior global stakeholders and management
Lead incident reviews for confidentiality breaches and regulatory reporting / clearing violations to validate installation of risk controls
Lead annual Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA) to identify risks with existing processes and ensure remediation
Lead and project manage audits to address compliance needs for regulations such as Service and Organization Control (SOC), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) , and IHS Markit’s own internal audit standards
Promote risk awareness by leading training sessions on data confidentiality and operational risk management to global staff
Facilitate the identification, assessment, and management of operational risks throughout Financial Markets products and the division as a whole
Facilitate monitoring and reporting of risk metrics to provide transparency to all stakeholders to drive ownership and remediation
Maintain a strong working relationship with key governance, risk and compliance functions on behalf of the Financial Markets division including : Corporate Compliance, Legal, Information Security, IT Compliance, Internal Audit,
Conduct ad-hoc risk management related analyses and perform root-cause analyses related to issues associated with key processes.
Education and experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred with areas of study in business, finance, or quantitative field.
3-5 years’ experience in financial operations, operational risk management, and / or project management with proven experience working across products and stakeholder groups.
Experience managing the delivery of large scale multi geography projects a plus
Experience in Microsoft tools, PowerBI, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow a plus
Strong understanding of the financial industry and the regulations impacting it. IHS Markit’s value proposition and the operational methods required to deliver that value.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work with multiple global stakeholders

Strong oral and written communication skills. Fluent written and spoken English.
Ability to lead discussions with both internal and external participants.
The individual must be able to comfortably interact with varying levels of management from analyst to senior executive.
