It has been firmly established in the UK for over 16 years, and is able to integrate and add value to a number of other service lines CBRE offers, including property valuation, advisory, and consultancy services.

  • The consultancy offers a range of services : expert witness; façade fire risk assessment; monitoring, re-cladding; defect analysis;
  • advice on materials and finishes; technical audits and much more.It consists of a growing team of experienced façade engineers based in London, with regional hubs beginning to emerge across the UK.

    We are flexible on location and happy for this position to be based from either our London or one of our regional offices.

    Role Purpose : To provide support to the Regional Team and the Team Leader as well as the London team, operating independently from the Regional office or remotely . Key Responsibilities

  • The Associate Director (AD) will perform the role taking account of façade design principles
  • Preparing reports and specifications
  • Preparation of quality reports, including Technical Due Diligence reports for property acquisitions, sale or re-financing, PPM etc.
  • The AD will perform duties in line with guidance from line manager but operates autonomously taking on ownership and moving away from regular supervision
  • Regular QA / QC of reports from other team members, ensuring the procedures are followed.
  • Carry out regular inspections and condition surveys of old and new facades, allocating resources in line with Client deadlines and availability.
  • Monitor and support junior team members in carrying out their roles
  • Understands and is actively engaged in the strategy of the team and Service Line
  • Assists the Team Leader to ensure the operational effectiveness of the team is aligned to the business strategy.
  • Assists the Team Leader with recruitment, using their network and industry connections to identify suitable candidates for recruitment.
  • The AD is expected to collaborate with other teams and departments, to be personally involved and encourages others to support the team and the company
  • Ensures that there is regular communication within the Regional team as well as with the London team, both at junior staff level as well as Team Leader and Head of Façades
  • Manages time efficiently in respect of all the different workflows, without impact on the delivery of each. Ensures that the Team Leader is informed when there is an impact on processes, delivery or quality of output, providing a resolution to the issues encountered.
  • Associate Director Specification / Requirements Essential

  • Uses his / her hands-on experience and shares knowledge within the team, by providing support during the survey / instruction and via the QA procedure
  • Improved their knowledge of latest building construction techniques and materials, sharing this knowledge within the team in a timely manner.
  • Strives for everyone in the team to achieve the MSc degree in Facade Engineering from the University of the West of England in Bristol or equivalent qualification, as well as membership of the Society of Façade Engineers.
  • The AD will deal with all professionals and persons within the building industry, including clients, Building Managers, architects & designers, contractors, manufacturers etc.
  • The responsibility of the role required the AD agrees to and sets objectives and roles at an early stage to focus and co-ordinate team effort.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to others to ensure high performing individuals and teams, liaising with the Team Leader to ensure a coordinated strategy.

  • Prepares fee proposals, checks fees sent by other team members and ensures that a Director has reviewed all fee proposals before these are issued to the Client.
  • Prepares regular presentations to internal departments and colleagues, as part of marketing or Continuing Professional Development (CPDs), thus ensuring that the team name is associated with collaboration and sharing of knowledge.
  • Reviews and prepares budget costs where an instruction requires it, and supports the team in preparing budget costs for such projects.
  • Assists the Team Leader and the Head of Façades with financial forecasting and administration of fees and invoices.
  • The AD will ensure that all internal procedures are followed in relation to project administration, such as opening a new job number, carrying out conflict checks, ensuring project related information is saved in the project folder for auditing purposes.
  • Supervising more junior team members in ensuring the above processes are implemented, carrying out regular checks and reporting to the Team Leader and Head of Facades.
  • Understands and assimilates the company RISE values Respect Integrity Service Excellence , striving to be a role-model within the team and wider department.
  • The AD will be ensuring they carry out work in an efficient manner, demonstrating a good understanding of both the short term and long term drivers of financial performance.
