Several opportunities have arisen within the Tameside area, for teachers looking to gain invaluable secondary school experience.

Specifically, those who are proficient in the teaching of Business and IT are encouraged to apply for a role at a secondary school within the Tameside area.

The required individual will hold QTS, and be competent in the delivery of both Business and ICT. A degree related to either of subjects is very desirable, as is prior experience working within a secondary school environment.

The role will involve the delivery of high quality lessons, working with pupils on both an individual and group basis. It is essential that the required applicant will have a passion for trying ensure that every child fully maximises their ability within these subject areas.

It is crucial that the applicant will be able to implement their own unique methods within lessons, as well as apply intervention strategies to students who require extra guidance when required.

Knowledge of managing those with SEN is of high importance, as well as being able to effectively differentiate learning processes to cater for the needs of specific individuals.

Understanding of the complexities often faced by students whose primary language may not be English is of paramount importance.

Again, being able to meet the needs of these students is imperative.

Key aspects of the role include :

  • Effective delivery of school curriculum for both Business and IT, preparing students for assessments / examinations.
  • Preparation and supply of engaging and creative educational material, both for in class tasks as well as for homework.
  • Working in line with recommendations made by Ofsted, to ensure that consistent improvement is made.
  • Enforcing school policy, managing behaviour expectations as well as developing positive working relationships with both students and other members of staff.
  • Working alongside teaching assistants / learning support assistants, utilising these roles to fully ensure that students are on task throughout lessons.
  • Pay £24,373 to £40,490 based on prior experience.
  • The school’s location in Tameside is within close proximity to Manchester city centre. There are numerous public transport links, as well as several motorway links close by.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
