Relationships : Business Unit, ITVP Finance Team, Treasury, NBCU Groups, US Corporate Finance Team, CapGemini, AP Shared Service Team, AR Shared Service Team, SAP Team and External Auditors, Tax and VAT teams

NBCU International TV Production (ITVP) is the youngest of NBCU’s divisions and is charged with producing TV content for local UK broadcasters, US and International Markets.

The strategy is to develop quality content organically and through acquisition. The division consists of a dedicated team made up of production, development, sales, business affairs and finance mostly based in the UK but with a presence in Australia, Canada and Asia.


Accounts Receivable Process

  • Responsible for the UK AR process, ensuring development, production and distribution revenue is recognised, billed and collected in a timely manner
  • Partnering with the production companies to gather sales information, including licence agreements and contracts, extracting the relevant data and communicating it to the billings team.
  • Liaising with the business and the Amsterdam AR team to supply customers with final production documents / information as required
  • Maintain and analyse invoice log and AR registers
  • Manage the relationship with the AR function in Amsterdam including :
  • Set-up of AR customer accounts
  • Invoice preparation, balance collection and bank clearing
  • Follow up on outstanding collections with customers
  • Prepare Monthly AR aging report
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts for incoming receipts for treasury and corporate FP&A
  • Revenue Recognition

  • Work with production companies to ensure revenue is recognised in a timely manner
  • Manage and own the deferred & accrued revenue accounts
  • Partner with FP&A team to ensure revenue recognition is aligned with forecasts
  • Manage the other revenue streams- L&M, Royalties, Formats
  • Month and Quarter End

  • Responsible for the monthly posting of accruals analysing cost to date to forecast to ensure accruals
  • Reviewing and analysing accrual accounts to ensure all accruals are valid
  • Work with wider controllership team to accurately record overhead costs each month
  • Ownership of the suspense accounts ensuring they are cleared down monthly
  • Quarterly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Disclosure Requests
  • Intercompany

  • Responsible for end to end intercompany process
  • Analyse and recharge costs between intragroup companies
  • Check all incoming recharges for reasonableness against prior quarters and report any discrepancies to Finance Manager
  • Analysing and processing NBCU group intercompany charges in SAP
  • Ensuring all regular recharges have been received in each period and making appropriate accruals as necessary
  • Co-ordinating with intercompany parties at quarter end to ensure there are no mismatches on accounts requiring trading partners or eliminations and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Ensuring all recharge accounts are cleared down on a monthly basis
  • Initiating settlement of outstanding balances on a periodic basis (monthly / quarterly) and reporting any cashflow issues to the controller
  • Additional Finance Support

  • Assist finance functions (controllership and FP&A) with relevant data analysis
  • Assist with project work
  • Ad hoc data reports / requests / tasks

  • Part qualified with the intention to become fully qualified with an accredited professional finance qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA or equivalent);
  • Excellent excel skills (lookups, pivots, ability to manage and analyse volume of data);
  • Confident with financial systems. SAP experience beneficial, but not essential;
  • Exposure to a large multi-currency organisation;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with ability to effectively manage multiple deliverables;
  • Highly motivated and proactive attitude towards work coupled with the ability to use initiative;
  • Ability to take ownership, provide solutions and execute as necessary;
  • Team player as well as proven ability to work autonomously;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with proven accuracy;
  • Confident, accountable and solution focused;
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a fast paced environment;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with Management and other Departments;
  • Excellent English (written and spoken) language
