Job Description
To support the Logistics Manager in the replenishment, demand and planning activities, including creating and consolidating documentation in accordance with planned schedules, taking full account of SHE & Q, Documentation, Site Procedures and Legislation.
Prepare regular analyses about material consumption and makes suggestions for optimal usage and ordering process.
Carry out duties in accordance with Company Procedures, maintaining a high level of awareness and commitment in the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality aspects of work.
In particular, carry out all operations in a safe manner, utilising appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as specified, and complying with all site procedures.
Attend and participate in Site Safety Meetings, participate in safety initiatives (5S) and where appropriate assist in audits and incident reporting.
Use the company computer systems, including e-mail, as required.
Attend team briefs and meetings.
Ensure accurate records are maintained for your area and retained in accordance with Site Procedures.
Preparation of own goals and targets.
Maintenance of technical skill profile to meet business needs
Training others in role duties.
Maintain routine communications for activities delegated both internally and externally.
Managing the AX5 system daily to ensure correct raw materials are purchased against the current demand plan, using the system to make purchases
Liaises with and sends accurate and timely forecasts to suppliers.
Controls stock count process : determining frequency of counts, ensuring stock counts match the system and make corrections as required, targeting accuracy improvements in line with departmental targets
Supports the MFG / QMM departments on any raw material deliveries which do not meet specification.
Coordinates raw material replenishment in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by senior management.
Supports the Lean Manufacturing program - SMED / Quick Changeover implementation, 5S, Kaizen as appropriate.
Manage inventory levels to meet forecasts demand within the agreed rules set by the Logistics Manager
Liaises with management to sort out any discrepancies.
Liaises with internal sales (SCS) to ensure any special work order instructions are issued, e.g. trials as required.
Provide cover for the production planner role.
Accountabilities
The jobholder is accountable for the following :
To the Logistics Manager for his / her own HSE performance; his / her impact on the HSE of those around them and the HSE performance of all contractors working under his / her control.
To Logistics Manager for raw material planning performance.
Qualifications
Skills, Qualifications, Competencies and Behaviours
Experience in material planning, purchasing and stock management skills in a manufacturing environment
Educated to at least GCSE level.
Manage the raw material demand process from sales to production planning at the site level
Scheduling raw material based on open order list and dates required
Monitoring documentation and plant data
Provide mid / long-term rolling forecast for raw materials
Excel / Power BI Advanced user preferred
Knowledge of AX5 preferred,
Knowledge of MRP / ERP & Supply Chain operation a must.
