Our Global Repo franchise has repo trading operations in London, New York, Tokyo and Toronto. This includes Short End Swaps, FX Forwards and Commercial Paper Sales & Trading.

Our client base includes : securities lenders, banks, central banks, hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds, insurance funds & corporate.

We are looking to hire an Associate into our EMEA Short End trading team in London. The successful individual will primarily focus on the EMEA commercial paper book as well as trade European repo supporting a senior trader on the desk.

  • Responsibilities;
  • Act as a market maker through execution of client orders across Short End trading team
  • Pricing / Quoting for clients - Analyse revenue and hedging opportunities
  • Assist in the management of the market risk attached to the trading book
  • Actively work with sales teams to ensure the franchise has access to the most up to date information for our clients
  • Cover other trading books when required
  • Develop a close working relationship with the rest of the trading and sales floor, Treasury, Finance and other support functions
  • Qualifications / Skills / Experience required;
  • Excellent academic record with undergraduate degree required
  • Strong mathematical skills are required
  • Advanced level of Excel to VBA level, MS Access and Bloomberg
  • Market risk knowledge
  • Prior experience as a Trader on a short end trading desk within a Global Investment Bank
  • Knowledge of repo markets, cross currency markets and credit markets is required.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify issues, evaluate large sets of data and generate ideas of the back off this analysis
  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams / individuals
  • Package : Competative base salary + Discretionary bonus + benefits package
