An exciting opportunity has arisen within our compliance team to provide regulatory support to our Active Savings product.
This successful applicant will be the main compliance contact for the Active Savings team and will provide advice on the different regulations that impact them as an Authorised Payment Institution.
You will need an excellent working knowledge of the Payment Services Regulations including PSD2 and the associated Technical Standards, Guidelines and Recommendations.
You will also have a good understanding of Electronic Money Regulations.
The role will require you to develop strong working relationships with senior individuals in the business and represent the compliance team in all regulatory matters relating to our Active Savings product.
You will also be required to provide compliance support for any other areas of the business that are impacted by Payment Services or Electronic Money regulations, including the HL Currency Service.
Key Duties And Responsibilities :
Providing compliance advice to our Active Savings team on Payment Services Regulations, Electronic Money Regulations and other applicable rules and guidance.
Technical analysis of new regulatory publications impacting payment services and e-money including FCA consultation papers & policy statement and EBA guidance & technical standards.
Responsibility for ensuring that FCA regulatory returns for payment services are completed correctly.
Co-ordinating any FCA information requests relating to our Active Savings product or related payment services activity.
Providing compliance support for FCA applications or approvals that are required for Active Savings.
Compliance support and review for internal policy, procedure and guidance documents relating to Active Savings.
Compliance support for any other areas of the HL business subject to payment services rules including the HL Currency Service.
Updating the Head of Compliance Advice and Group Director of Risk and Compliance on Active Savings matters.
Essential skills and experience :
Degree or equivalent
A strong working knowledge of Payment Services Regulations including PSD2 and all associated regulatory technical standards, guidance & recommendations.
A good understanding of Electronic Money Regulations.
An understanding of the role of the FCA within UK financial services and in particular payment services regulation.
An understanding of the role of the European Commission, ESMA, and the EBA in payment services regulation.
2 -3 years minimum experience of working in a payment services or e-money environment at a senior level.
Experience of dealing with the FCA including dealing with FCA supervision teams.
The ability to interpret complex regulatory documents and communicate clearly.
Good at building relationships with senior management.
Able to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
Desirable Skills and Experience :
Formal compliance qualifications
Broad knowledge of the FCA handbook.
An understanding of the rules that impact the wider HL business such as our platform service, advisory service or fund management business.
Experience of the FCA application process for Authorised Payment Institutions and / or Authorised Electronic Money Institutions.
Experience of the regulations that apply to foreign currency services.
