Barnes Lodge is a stunning Care Home in Tonbridge that has some exciting new vacancies for Night Care Assistants to work at the home on a rota basis, due to expansion.
Night Care Assistants provide waking night duty cover in the home and share meeting the person centred care needs of residents with other staff in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence.
Night Care Assistants also undertake general housekeeping duties that can be performed during night hours and they make an incredible difference to the lives of the people they care for.
Main Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :
Carrying out checks on residents at regular, prescribed intervals
Answering emergency bells
Assisting residents who need support, reassurance or comfort.
Carrying out regular security checks on the building
Reading and updating daily records / care plans
The ideal Night Care Assistant will demonstrate
A caring and compassionate approach
Patience and understanding of older people
Knowledge of or a willingness to be trained in the correct procedures for carrying out all of their duties including use of moving & handling equipment
An understanding of Health & Safety
Good communication skills with different groups, e.g. staff, residents, local community
Different values / cultures of residents and staff
Team working skills
Good timekeeping skills
The ideal Night Care Assistant will have the ability to :
