Our EMEA Sustainable Operations Team plays a vital role in driving sustainability as an embedded service and a differentiator for JLL and the property owners that we manage for.
We use our leading sustainability expertise to support, challenge and inspire our people and clients to create a prosperous economy, a flourishing society and a healthy environment.
Our team is expanding and an opportunity has come up for an experienced sustainability professional to join our team and lead on the delivery of sustainability services to a number of our largest clients.
Your role and responsibilities as Sustainability Director will include :
Work closely with Contract Directors and Client Relationship Directors to deliver sustainability services to a number of key clients and provide expert sustainability advice to internal and external stakeholders
First point of contact for the client(s) on all sustainability matters on a day to day basis
Understand and interpret client sustainability requirements and how this translates into service requirements for JLL
Develop and deliver work programmes that will ensure client sustainability requirements and key performance indicators are met
Develop and deliver CPDs, workshops, seminars to JLL teams, PAM Directors, Client teams on sustainability related legislation, emerging sectoral trends and the performance of sustainability programmes
Responsibility for monthly / quarterly / ad hoc client reporting as required
Responsibility for quality of all sustainability related client outputs
Proactively identify opportunities for delivering sustainability improvement across client portfolios and respectfully challenge the status quo
Support delivery of wider JLL Property and Asset Management initiatives across the client portfolios under your responsibility, including working with subject matters leads in delivering programs relating to specific sustainability themes such as energy management, circular economy, social impact
Work closely with the PAM Procurement Team and Supply Chain Partners to implement, monitor and report on how ESG has been embedded into all third-party supplier services across PAM
Take primary responsibility for the day-to-day management of two or more direct reports within the JLL Sustainability team
Manage the outputs of more junior members of the team
Proactively contribute to various PAM Leadership Groups to enable the business to achieve its vision of transforming the sector and becoming the property manager of choice
Role requirements and experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing and delivering sustainability related services to institutional investor clients
A sustainability related qualification and a deep understanding of sustainability issues relevant to real estate.
A strong understanding of the role of managing agents in the property cycle
Detailed knowledge of voluntary and mandatory sustainability and energy reporting protocols applicable to property owners
Experience of managing projects with multiple parties with many links in supply chain
Experience of managing small teams and encouraging a positive work environment to deliver accurate, high quality, engaging and client ready outputs e.

Excellent relationship building and client management skills
Excellent negotiation, communication and persuasion skills, with ability to co-ordinate projects that require input from large numbers of client, colleagues and supplier staff
Highly advanced information management skills, plus complementary use of face to face, telephone and email mediums of communication
A strong team player with the ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of people
