Costa Coffee - Finance Manager Operations Retail Finance

The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in enabling our operations teams execute and deliver the ambitious growth plans, whilst providing excellent insight and visibility into how the core part of our Total Coffee Company business operates.

This exciting role is a part of our equity finance operations team for the UK&I team, a respected core finance business partner to the UK&I Operations teams as well as supporting the Head of Retail Finance across our c1,500 equity stores.

A bit about the role...

Reporting to the Head of Retail Finance, you’ll be responsible for supporting operational profit delivery of the UK Equity business.

The single largest contributor to the Global Costa P&L, this role is also key in partnering several key pillars of the UK business strategy including Operational Effectiveness’, Efficiency for Growth E4G’ and operational capex management.

Other activities include :

  • Proactive analysis and insight of the Operational Cost Model across different store types and challenge and influence to identify opportunities
  • Delivering accurate, timely and actionable insight on operational performance communicating current trends, challenges and opportunities
  • Business partner to Regional Operations Directors, spending time with partners to drive greater understanding of profit performance, top and bottom quartiles and enhance action planning to protect and grow controllable profit
  • Provide regular ad hoc analysis that identifies key issues stimulating conversation and driving action.

  • Graduate-calibre qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Significant experience in the finance team of a large company and working in a fast paced / customer facing organisation
  • Commercial finance experience supporting a business unit
  • Analyse and convey complex ideas, simply, to non-finance colleagues
  • Excellent Excel skills, including reporting and modelling
  • Strong forecasting skills
  • Good PowerPoint and Presentational skills
  • Resilient, enthusiastic, inquisitive natured individual who enjoys learning about end to end business execution
