JOB SUMMARY

Preparation for and supervision of individual activities in relation to initiatives and programmes e.g. Daily mile, Walking

bus, Healthy tuck shop etc.

2) Encouraging and promoting good standards of pupil behaviour.

3) Helping children to build confidence in identified areas under the supervision of the teaching staff.

4) Sourcing and maintaining specific resource identified to support targeted interventions.

5) Supporting pupils working in the school garden and grounds.

6) Organising and preparing for family based activities and events in and out of school, supporting activities as directed by

Headteacher.

7) Escorting groups of pupils within and outwith the premises, e.g. between classrooms, to home or hospital, on

educational visits, swimming lessons, sports events.

8) Providing comfort and care for minor accidents, upsets or ailments under the supervision of the first aider.

9) Helping children who need support putting on coats, shoes etc., whilst encouraging independence.

10) Playground supervision

11) Lunch supervision

12) First Aid

13) Notice boards and displays

14) Assist with maintenance and management of equipment

15) Assist with food orders, prep etc. in / home Economics if training provided

16) Support for vulnerable children

17) General office duties

18) Supporting creation of resources

19) Develop early childhood studies such as Early Numeracy and Reading skills through Buddy reading etc.

1. Education and Training

  • Education to SCQF Level 5 (Standard Grade) or equivalent in English and Maths (E)

  • WORKING HOURS

    This will be determined by each Headteacher depending on their needs. The working day will not start before 8am or finish after 4pm.

    HOURLY RATE

    ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT

    1. 1 : 1 mentoring meeting to be scheduled on a weekly basis; punctuality and attendance part of standing agenda (where necessary)

    2. Young person will work as part of a team and spend time with each member individually in a shadowing / supporting role

    3. Induction will take place in first week of placement to include H&S, professional expectations etc. On-going engagement and training throughout placement

    4. Providing experience of work and portfolio’ of evidence to help with future job applications. On-going opportunities to develop essential skills for work and to apply these in a working environment
